products today announce SearchIn, a desktop search product line for Windows. While the cost of storage has gone down,

SearchIn Desktop and Professional is system-level software that utilizes a patent-pending keyword indexing
methodology that enables fast accurate searches. The system automatically indexes files as they are saved to desktop
volumes. The products leverage real time indexing that is optimal for system performance and search accuracy. The
search index has been designed to address the complexity of rich media files by understanding specific metadata
structures in these files.
SearchIn Desktop provides support for all file types file system data. Support is also provided for a small sample of
files to demonstrate the power of content and metadata index, search, and retrieval. The basic file types supported
include: MS Word .doc, .MS Excel xls, MS PowerPoint .ppt, MS Visio .vis, MS Project .prj, Standard Text .txt, Hyper
Text Markup Language .html, and dozens of other text based file formats.
SearchIn Professional provides a variety of features specifically targeted at business desktop users. Specific support
for hundreds of business critical information asset formats such as: Adobe Acrobat .pdf; Audio .mp3; Video .avi; and
Images .tif files including indexing the metadata and content of the files. BlackBall's OCR indexing technology enables
bitmap .tif images that are electronically scanned or faxed to have text extracted from the images and added into the
search index. The Professional Edition also allows users to attach personalized descriptions of files, called custom
metadata fields to enhance your search accuracy and help with the flow of information management. Users can dynamically
create metadata fields and attach keywords to those fields as descriptions.
