BlackBall® Announces Availability of SearchIn™ Version 5.0

BlackBall® Announces Availability of SearchIn™ Version 5.0

Award-winning Company Brings Industrial-Strength Searches Across All Platforms and Media Types

SAN DIEGO - May 2, 2006 - BlackBall® Inc., a leading provider of unstructured data management solutions, today announced the release of SearchIn™ version 5.0. SearchIn's patent-pending technology enables instant file retrieval, regardless of format or location. The new release expands the current SearchIn product line to include SearchIn Network Storage Edition for Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices and SearchIn Archive Edition for organizing and managing data on near-line, offline, and microfilm storage.

Analysts report that 80% of the data in an average enterprise is unstructured. Included in this figure are the files people use everyday - documents, spreadsheets, presentations, video, audio, and of course e-mail. SearchIn alleviates the frustration of lengthy searching through folders and drives with powerful keyword queries.

"SearchIn version 5.0 is the only solution available which searches across all of the various storage systems of unstructured data without requiring a dedicated server or appliance," said Patricia Brown, president of BlackBall. "Our multi-platform indexing allows knowledge workers to respond incredibly quickly to information requests."

As storage costs decline, storage devices have become overcrowded with complex files. SearchIn is an unstructured data management solution that utilizes real-time indexing technology, addressing the complexity of rich media files by understanding their specific metadata structures. This system-level software automatically indexes files as they are saved to local or network volumes, optimizing performance and accuracy. SearchIn offers complete security integration and supports hundreds of formats.

BlackBall's SearchIn Server Edition retails for $695.00 and runs on 32-bit Windows Server Operating Systems, RedHat, Debian, and SuSE Linux, Sun Solaris and Mac OS X. SearchIn Agent Edition retails for $395.00 and support the above plus HP-UX, AIX, and Novell NetWare. SearchIn Network Storage Edition retails for $695.00 and runs on Windows Storage Server and ApplianceWare's NAS OS. SearchIn Archive Edition software retails for between $2,995.00-$99,995.00 and runs on 32-bit Windows Server Operating Systems, RedHat, Debian, and SuSE Linux, Sun Solaris and Mac OS X. SearchIn Professional Edition and Seat Licenses retail for $29.95. SearchIn is available as a free trial download at www.blackball.com..
